Ford has delayed the start of serial production of new generation Ford Mondeo, reports Automotive News, citing a representative of the Belgian office of the manufacturer Arnaud Henkaertsa.

Release of “Mondeo” was to begin April 6 next year at the “Ford” in Genk, Belgium. But now the beginning of the assembly model is postponed for three months because of problems with homologation and the formation of complete sets.
“We do not want to go into details because it is our internal difficulties. But this is not an unusual problem. April 6 was a pre-launch date for the domestic production “, – said Henkaerts.
It is expected that the European market orders for the new Ford Mondeo will take in May-June 2013. The model will be offered with two petrol “turbo fours” EcoBoost of 1.6 and 2.0 liters, developing 179 horsepower and 237, respectively. Also in the range will include 2,0 – and 2,2-liter diesel engines.
