Ferrari has created a new hybrid power plant, which, contrary to expectations, do not use the kinetic energy recovery system (KERS). A patent application for the new development was in the hands of journalists Car & Driver.

According to the publication, in the power plant includes the gasoline engine and two electric motors, one of which drives the wheels, while the other provides the electronic systems such as air conditioning and electric power steering. With a second motor to increase the performance of internal combustion engines - no part of the acceleration torque is not spent on the work of electronics.
The hybrid system is designed for use on cars with front-layout - such as California. It is interesting that, according to documents filed with the patent application, the location of one of the motors can be changed - perhaps in the company are experimenting with different options. Earlier, Amedeo Felisa Ferrari mentioned that a new hybrid system can be installed on all future models of the Italian brand.
